St. Louis Parish welcomes Fr. Michael Okata as our newest Associate Pastor.
Fr. Michael was born on January 13, 1972 at Edupfuinyinia Ishieke Ebonyi. He is one of eleven children with five brothers and five sisters. His parents are deceased.
Fr. Michael was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Enugu on July 7, 2007. Fr. Michael loves reading, listening to music and playing badminton.
Fr. Michael comes to us from the Catholic Diocese of Enugu which is located in the city of Enugu in the Ecclesiastical province of Onitsha in Nigeria. The Diocese of Enugu was founded on November 12, 1962. The Cathedral is Holy Ghost Cathedral.
Fr. Michael is from Nduegu Ishieke, Ebonyi, the local government area of Ebonyi State in Nigeria. Ebonyi is primarily an agricultural region and it is a leading producer of rice, yams, potatoes, maize, and beans in Nigeria. Ebonyi has several solid mineral resources, including lead, crude oil, and natural gas. Ebonyi is called “the salt of the nation” for its huge salt deposit at the Okposi and Uburu Salt Lakes.
